Woodland Burial Ground on the very edge of Dartmoor comprising of six acres of former pasture. The burial site is maintained to actively encourage wildlife within a woodland habitat.
From Beer Cross:
“This is a Woodland Burial Ground on the very edge of Dartmoor comprising of six acres of former pasture, planted out 6 years ago with approximately 3500 deciduous native broadleaf trees. The plots are set within a one-acre section of the field with wide-ranging views of Dartmoor (Cosdon Hill / Beacon and Belstone Tor). We are members of the Association of Natural Burial Grounds and we have a Code of Conduct and Rules that govern the site and the way we deal with the burials.”
What we like: The planting of 3500 trees is helping to create a new woodland which will act as a poignant reminder of a loved one who is buried there.
