A stone’s throw from the coast, this 13th-century grade-II* listed church boasts a large surrounding churchyard including the tomb of Lady Nelson. They offer a natural burial site adjacent to the site that is regularly maintained and keeps in line with strict natural burial rules.
From Littleham Churchyard:
“Set in a secluded area adjacent to the existing churchyard at Littleham, Exmouth, this natural burial ground offers a peaceful space for people who want an environmentally friendly burial. The area has been consecrated but as with the churchyard, it is open to all, whether or not of the Christian faith. Funerals can be arranged through a funeral director, although you are free to make whatever arrangements you feel are appropriate. We shall be pleased to discuss matters with you”
What we like about it: The amount of history that comes with the church is sure to be of interest to anyone interested in British Maritime history.
